In Our Church
Congregational Care
Northwest members are there for one another in times of joy and sorrow. Our specially designated Prayer Line (404-237-6615) is available 24/7. Prayer concerns also are listed in the NWPC Weekly. Our Intercessory Prayer Group meets every Monday at 11:30am in the peaceful setting of the church parlor. Some pray aloud in turn; some join their hearts in silent prayer. The prayer time usually lasts about 35-50 minutes. All are welcome.
Our Session's Congregational Care Team supports our pastoral staff. We care for one another with cards, visits, and telephone calls to our shut-ins as well as our sick and hospitalized members. Meals and helping hands are readily provided for those experiencing a new baby, illness, or death in the family. Our Congregational Care Team also provides the necessary volunteers for funeral services, funeral receptions and other needs.
Our college students receive "care packages" to help them through exam week, and our graduating high school and college seniors are recognized at the end of the school year. Our New Member Dinners introduce newcomers to the warmth and fellowship of Northwest Presbyterian. Special events are also planned for our senior members.
Outreach
Northwest Presbyterian extends a warm, welcoming hand of hospitality to visitors and guests. We are intentional in our efforts to reach out to the community, open wide our doors, and make everyone--visitors and members alike--feel welcome here. If you are visiting with us, please be sure to sign the Friendship Pad. And stop by the Visitors’ Table in the narthex after worship and pick up a Visitor Bag. It contains helpful information and a homemade pound cake! Learn more about what to expect when you visit.
